The Position
We are looking for an experienced IBM WebSphere Portal consultant to join our team working with the IBM Product Portfolio. Candidates should have an IT degree with a 2:2 or above, have a high level of experience in IBM Portal Server V6 or later and a strong background in web-based development. Strong time management, organisational and communication skills, and possess the ability to work independently are also essential.
Above all candidates should be strong team players, eager to learn, respond well to challenging environments, have a flexible approach to changing goals, as well as a sense of humor. Experience of leadership roles and/or demonstrable leadership qualities are also very important.
Role and Responsibilities
The successful applicant will be involved in:
- On and off-site consulting engagements.
- Assisting customers with design, development and deployment on the WebSphere Portal platform.
- Bespoke development projects from initial requirements gathering through to delivery and support.
- Mentoring and training staff, both internally and on customer sites, often on a one-to-one basis.
- Pre-sales engagements, including PoCs and PoTs and customer demonstrations.
- Working within both large and small project teams, in close knit and disparate teams.
- Keeping up to date with relevant technologies, including formal and informal education as well as certifications.
- All members of the technical team are required to travel and work on customer sites throughout Europe so a passport and driving license are essential.
